Feb. 7th, 2002 10:04 pmWow. Long friggin' day. I worked on my paper until 3AM last night, at which point I gave up and decided to get up early this morning to finish it. Which would have been fine, except darling Jason decided to call at 8 o'clock in the fucking morning, so I ended up getting 5 hours of sleep instead of 6. Ass. So anyway, I got up early, did my untouched French homework, and worked on my paper until it was time for class. After French, I grabbed a quick lunch, checked for voice mail before starting on my paper again, and..... (this is the best part. Wait for it.....)
I GOT INTO NELP!!!!!!!!!! YEAH BUDDY!!! Apparently someone dropped out or something, and they offered me the open space!!!! Let's see how many exclamation points I can fit into one tiny paragraph!!!!!!! Anyway, I still need to figure out how I'm gonna pay for NELP plus rent for this summer and next year, but I'm sure I'll figure something out. If nothing else, I suppose I'll just add a couple thousand dollars to my ever-increasing debt. Then I can deal with it later! Yay procrastination.
So now I'm at the library for the REST OF MY FRIGGIN' LIFE (or midnight, whichever comes first). I can't tell you how excited I am to go to sleep tonight. Of course, now I get to get up tomorrow and work for TEN GODDAMN HOURS, but at least I don't have any more big papers until the week after next. I tell ya, the absurd amounts of reading I have to do every night feel like a piece of cake compared to the hell that was this week.
Matt the Library Guy canceled our date this weekend because his grandmother's in a coma and he has to go home for a few days to be with his family. I feel bad for him, but I can't say that I'm terribly crushed that I have Saturday free now. I'm thinking that'll be my pj's and mindless TV day. Mmmm, no work whatsoever... I can taste it already. Can you imagine? Sleeping in until noon, pj's until dinnertime, not going outside all day... positively orgasmic, I tells ya.
I ran into Aaron just as I was leaving the cafeteria this evening. I was already late for work so I couldn't stay and talk, but he said his cell phone's been acting up (hence, the failure to receive my message) and that I should try calling his dorm room phone. I suppose nothing terribly noteworthy is going to come out of tracking him down, but he's certainly fun to talk to and if nothing else we should hang out sometime and talk books.
I'm getting this whole socializing thing down, baby. When I was at the Union on break I ran into a guy from my Lit Crit class and actually said hi instead of pretending I didn't see him like I usually would. We ended up talking for my entire break. I was pretty proud of myself.
So yeah. Yay productive weeks, but this one really needs to end. I want my bed and a nice MASH rerun right... now.
P.S. You know you're a pathetic English major when you proofread your live journal entries and actually fix awkward word choice and stuff instead of just correcting typos. Heaven forbid I should use the word "friggin'" three times in two paragraphs! I better pick different expletives so I won't be repetetive! ::smacks forehead with palm of hand:: I've got the bug bad, it seems.
