An actual conversation that just took place between B. and me:

B: So next Friday...
M: Yeah?
B: Well, because of the nature of next Saturday--
M: Wait, what's next Saturday?
B: *odd look*
(Oh yeah. Next Saturday's my birthday.)
M: Er, right. Silly me. Go on.
B: Well, I'm going to need to be left to my own devices for preparation purposes. You can come here to sleep, but you can't see anything I'm planning until Saturday. Okay?
M: Um. You got it. And now if you'll excuse me, I must adjourn to the next room and wibble gleefully to myself for a while.

Well, okay, I didn't actually say the last part, but it's what I was thinking. I can't even begin to imagine what that boy's got planned.

In other news, today I almost passed out in the shower. All of a sudden I got those black stars obscuring my vision like you get sometimes when you stand up too fast, except this time they didn't go away. I ended up sitting on the floor of the shower basically blind for what felt like forever but was probably more like 30 seconds before my vision cleared and I could shakily stand up again. B. got me dressed and downstairs so I could drink a couple glasses of milk, which brought my blood sugar up enough that I didn't feel so light headed anymore. We had pancakes for lunch and took a walk and when I got back I had a couple of fried eggs, and the protein there seems to have kicked in enough that now I feel completely normal again, but I was really shaky for a while. I'm thinking it was probably a combination of not eating enough for the past few days and the fact that I'm right in the middle of my period right now. I've never had anything like that happen before, never even come close to fainting, so as you can imagine it was a little scary. Pending any more near losses of consciousness, though, I think I'll just put it down to an unfortunate combination of circumstances and try not to get all wigged out about it.

Anyway, I should go shower for real before heading off to Haley's dinner party this evening.
