BossPaul just came back from his lunch bearing a copy of the Ann Arbor News, which I snagged so I could scan the Classifieds section for weekend babysitting jobs to supplement my current not-even-close-to-full-time income. Turns out there's a nanny position advertised there for $700/wk.
O.o
I mean, Jebus.
Granted, it's probably a full-time live-in position with at least three spoiled, screaming children, and though I have some great references and ten years of (admittedly off and on) babysitting experience, these people wouldn't be advertising for $700/wk if they didn't require actual nannying experience up the wazoo. Still, though. I might have to apply just for shits 'n' giggles.
That's almost two month's rent per week. I cannot even fathom having that kind of discretionary income. Childcare is clearly where the real money's at in this town.
I do believe I shall spend this evening putting together a stellar childcare resume for myself.
