You know I'm a liberal...and perhaps for that very reason I don't feel that military service is necessarily a qualification for public service. It is highly overrated. I'd like to believe that having been in the military would make one more cautious about using force, but when in the history of the world have soldiers been anything but the first to advocate war?

I think in this case it's more of a "if you're gonna talk the talk, you should have walked the walk." The Conservatives are the ones who put most of the emphasis on it in the first place, and yet our "commander in chief" who is supposedly running the war, has never served. It's a bit sketchy, what with all the ways they've tried to discredit Kerry's record.

Me, I'm a pacifist. I'd prefer to have Dennis Kucinich in the white house. but that'll happen when pigs fly, so *shrug*

Actually, in this case, the war-profiteers advocated the war long before the soldiers. I imagine such is often the case.

Kind of makes the whole campaign where republicans call democrats unamerican kind of lame, doesn't it.

I bet the guy who made up this list criticizes American politics all the time. And I bet he didn't serve either.

Wow. Way to totally miss the point, dude.

Also, the person who made up this list happens to be a woman currently serving in Iraq.

You have any more misinformed anonymous comments for me?

I don't think that had anything to do with their relative lack of war experience, though...I think it was a mixture of greed and misguided nationalism.
