So it looks like, barring unforseen disasters like my mom not being able to get the time off work, I am going to interview on Saturday, January 22 and mommy's going to come with me! Woooooo!
This means a number of excellent things:
1)I don't have to go to the Big Scary Interview all alone. Well, I mean, yes, I have to go to the actual interview part alone; I'm not bringing my mother to hold my hand through the five minute sample lesson or anything. But I'll have someone to keep me company through the intervening time, which will be nice.
2)I'll get to show my mom around my favorite city on earth and my future home, which she hasn't seen since she was in high school.
3) Can anyone say hotel room (and possibly airfare) that I don't have to pay for? YES! And also, this is unrelated to the actual trip, but over Christmas break my mom's going to come with me to pick out an interview-appropriate suit. My first grownup business wear ever. Somehow I suspect I'm going to feel like a little kid dressing up in her mommy's clothes, but I suppose it's a step in the right direction at least.
