I just sat in the Fishbowl for about 5 hours and added a grand total of just over two pages to my thesis draft.
I have to keep reminding myself that this is an ongoing process, that there are types of progress that don't necessarily involve the word count going up. Like staring at a word for several minutes, then erasing it and replacing it with something else, then staring at that for several minutes before giving up and retyping the original word.
Gah.
I don't think I know how to write academically without pounding out the requisite number of pages and filling in the gaps with bullshit. This nebulous search for quality over quantity is totally messing with my head.
This is why I'm waiting at least a year before I even begin to contemplate applying to grad school.
