Well, I made it through ok.

The thing in the casket looked nothing like her, as predicted, but I went and looked with the family and didn't lose it. I think the fact that it didn't look like her made it easier.

Everyone brought pictures and stuff to set up around the room. She used to be so glamorous--she was a model when she was younger. She won a beauty contest. She was beautiful, and that overly-makeupped shell looked nothing like her.

The service was nice and understated. I held my mom while she cried--though no one broke down too badly.

I still haven't cried yet.

I'm sitting in my 16 year old cousin Ray's bedroom right now, typing on a computer he built himself. He's been showing me pictures of his girlfriend, who is adorable.

I'm not quite sure when it happened, but somehow I feel like I belong to this family now. It's nice.

Everyone's been really sweet--people have been sending me e-mails, leaving messages on my voice mail, cooking me dinner. It's good to know that people care.

Anyway, I should get off of Ray's computer and join the gathering downstairs. But to everyone who has offered support over the past few days-- thank you. Thank you so much.
