Well, it is Thanksgiving, after all.
Nov. 27th, 2003 12:00 pmThings I am thankful for, in no particular order:
*My mom.
*The ability to write.
*Music snob friends who introduce me to obscure bands I then fall in love with.
*My comfy warm bed.
*Sleep.
*Jason.
*Aubrey.
*The 318 Cat kids.
*LJ friends who I've become closer to than one would believe possible with people whose voices I've never heard.
The fact that I now have friends living in at least four countries and who knows how many states.
*Transatlantic calls from Shoshana just to talk.
*Friends with benefits. (!)
*LJ friends with benefits (!)
*The memory of my grandmother.
*Boy talk with Aubrey.
*The fact that after 22 years, my family finally feels like a family.
The uncanny knack my thesis advisors have for gently calming my multitudinous nervous breakdowns.
*My iPod. So shiny. So full of music. So bought and paid for all by myself.
*For a few brief hours, seeing college through the eyes of a freshman again.
*My capacity for love, unexercised though it is at the moment.
*The ability to pay rent and utilities and tuition bills, but still jokingly call myself "poor" when there's something I can't afford to do.
*The fact that as far as my cousin Ray is concerned, I'm the cool relative.
*My teddy bear.
*Neil Gaiman's coming to Michigan in April! Meep.
*The fact that I can't listen to the Postal Service CD without grinning and wanting to dance around the room.
Okay, that's enough for now. I need to shower and pack so I can go home to family time I'm actually kind of looking forward to for once.
