grammargirl: (I don't wanna grow up)
For my History of Witchcraft class, I have to read Arthur Miller's The Crucible. I stage managed a production of that show in 10th grade (that'd be 1997-98), and it's been kinda cool as I've read to picture who was in what role in that production. It's also been driving me nuts because there are a few people I just can't place, and because it was a high school production 6 years ago, it's not like something I can just go to google and search for. So, I'm looking for some help in reconstructing the cast list. I don't think anyone on my friends list was actually involved in the production, but I assume a lot of you at least saw it and may remember a couple people in it.

Here's what I have so far:

Reverend Parris: Maybe John Zajac?
Betty Paris: Jen Martin/Jackie Shettler
Tituba: Hope Williams/Keke Fairfax
Abigail Williams: Dana Acheson/Sarah Ashcraft
Susanna Walcott: ?
Mrs. Ann Putnam: Mimsy Sherry
Thomas Putnam: ?
Mercy Lewis: Andrea Paul (?)
Mary Warren: Natalie Knazik (?)
John Proctor: Steve Thompson
Rebecca Nurse: That friend of Dean's who came in when he needed someone to play an old woman.
Giles Corey: Dean Acheson
Reverend John Hale: Jay Bodzin/John Zajac (?)
Elizabeth Proctor: Alison Rogers

The rest are teeny parts that I barely even remember being in the play, let alone who played them.

I know there were more girls cast than there were parts for them to play; in any one performance there were the five girls with names, and then everyone else joined in the courtroom scenes to make the group look bigger. That means that all of those parts would have been double cast; I think Jessica Franz, Kelli Rademacher, and Elizabeth Lawrence were all in there somewhere, I just don't remember where. It's also possible that some of the male parts were double cast-- I seem to remember Johnny O'Green and Matt Glazek being involved in lots of plays, but I can't think of specific roles for them in this production.

Anyway, that's what I've been able to put together so far. I'd be eternally grateful to anyone who can fill in some gaps for me, because it's gonna drive me crazy until I reconstruct this list with some degree of certainty.

Why? Because I'm weird, that's why.

Never try to get history people to do literary analysis. It will only end badly.

I seriously feel like I have fewer brain cells than when I walked into Aud A an hour and a half ago. I mean, I know I'm an intellectual snob and all, and my ears are finely attuned to people who try to say smart things about literature while in fact sounding like total asshats. But jaysus, I was under the impression that this school has a fairly rigorous application process. It never fails to amaze me how many stupid people slip through the cracks.

Gah. And now if you'll excuse me, I must go burn the memory of that class out of my brain forever.
