Hey [livejournal.com profile] adora_mae, I need to get a copy of the Garden State soundtrack from you as soon as possible. I'll be in EQ tonight bugging my friend who works at the Half-Ass; will you be around if I stop by your room?

Thanks to Trivia Jeff for playing Frou Frou's "Let Go" at trivia last night. I was so excited to hear that song again that I ran home after the Yo La Tengo concert (which was WAY disappointing, incidentally) and actually paid iTunes the 99 cents to download it, which I never, EVER do. Anyway, I've been listening to it on repeat all day. Sosososo good. Man. I need to get the rest of this soundtrack, stat.

In other news, my boss's boss's boss has apparently asked for a student employee, i.e. me, to come in early tomorrow to sit in on some panel and give my Young Person's Perspective on... something? Library issues of some kind? BossPaul wasn't terribly clear on the matter. To which I say, sweet--you think they'll pay me extra? BossPaul says he'll see what he can do, because he's awesome like that. Anyway, he says it's up to me but I'll prolly end up doing it anyway; showing up at the asscrack of dawn (i.e., 8:30-9) will suck, but I'll get to leave early and in any case, it can't possibly be a bad idea to seize the opportunity to show the boss's boss's boss what a thoughtful, dedicated Young Person Employee I am. Or whatever. If nothing else, it'll be an excuse to wear the OMG SO GORGEOUS leather jacket my mommy brought me back from Italy. Maybe I'll even, like, not wear jeans. Amazing.

Today looks to be the first truly fall-like day we've had yet: cloudy and windy, with tiny leaves blowing in the chilly wind like bright yellow snow. I've been glad for my corduroy old-man-tastic thrift store jacket today. Looks like when I go back home for my dentist appointment this weekend it'll be about time to retrieve my winter sweaters and princess coat. I'll really miss the summer weather... yet at the same time, it's weird to realize that this is the first year since I was a little kid that I'm not totally dreading the winter. Amazing how much less awful the prospect of cold weather becomes when I can look forward to having someone to keep me warm.
