Holy shit.

I just wrote two pages in three hours. Two pages of actual, usable text, not scribbled notes or random musings.

Two pages of thesis. In three hours.

That's even including the time I spent talking to [livejournal.com profile] quixoticdancer on AIM--which, though highly enjoyable, was completely unproductive thesis-wise.

I probably would have been able to get close to five pages done tonight if the stupid fishbowl fuckers hadn't closed up and kicked me out at 11:30, just as I was getting on a roll. I know this doesn't seem like much to those of you who regularly churn out multiple pages an hour, and for n ordinary paper this would be pretty slow for me. But... damn, after the horrible frozen panic of the past few weeks, a paragraph of usable material would have seemed like a fantastic accomplishment. I mean, I didn't even come close to tears! Not once!

I may not be a total failure at life after all.

Holy shit.

YAY. How long is your thesis supposed to be?

Eep! I did not realize the fish bowl clock was a-tickin'. I should have saved my staggeringlylong, rambling stories for another day. But, yay for the progress. To quote from a Hugh Grant movie, one of those in which he stutters and acts flustered a lot, and regarding your thesis: You've broken the back of it. (Say that in your head in a plummy English accent--the accent is essential).

um, I need coffee. :-)

Worry not, sweetie, if I'd wanted you to hush up I'd've told you. Actually, telling myself that I was just going to the fishbowl to finish my conversation with you helped me get there in the first place, and once we finished talking it was like, well, I'm here already, might as well do some writing. Silly, I know, but sometimes you just gotta trick yourself into doing what needs to be done. So thanks! :)

Looking forward to hearing what you think of the T-beast thus far...

(And are there any Hugh Grant movies where he doesn't stutter and look flustered a lot?)
