Sitting at the Union right now, listening to Jill Sobule mp3s and (theoretically) writing my very first paper on my shiny new laptop. At the moment, I'm a little distracted with my childlike glee at the wonders of wireless internet. If only the people whose wireless connection I was piggybacking off of at home hadn't figured it out and blocked my ass. Oh well, I guess I can manage with no laptop in bed until I scrape together the dough to buy my very own wireless router.

Anyway, I suppose I should do something about this silly Joyce paper I have to write. I know I should be taking it more seriously, but 4-5 pages after the T-Beast is nothing, and it's hard to get riled up over an assignment for a class that doesn't count for a single requirement and will affect my GPA negligibly, if at all. I really do enjoy this class and I wish I cared more about doing a good job, but at the moment at least, I just can't be arsed.

So ready to be done with school, I cannot even tell you.

I found you mainly by randomly stepping through LJ, and I really, really enjoyed the conclusion you posted to your thesis; I found it especially thought-provoking and lovely in its turn-of-phrase. It also reminded me a bit of writing my thesis for my MS this past summer - except that mine wasn't covering an interesting topic and probably isn't enjoyable to read in the slightest. Mm, digression. Of course, now I'm rambling on and it might be a bit frightening, as that conclusion post was awhile ago, and it took me this long to work up my courage and post something in response...

So, er, do you mind if I add you? ( :

What a sweet comment. Of course you're more than welcome to add me. :)

(And you don't have to be afraid of commenting on my entries-- I don't bite, I promise!)

I don't think I'll be too afraid in the future – it was just getting over that first one. ( ;
