So... is he coming out, or what?
Jun. 19th, 2004 03:54 pmJust got back from seeing Saved! with
slammer2012 & co. With a cast including both Macaulay Culkan and Mandy Moore I had my doubts, but it was actually shockingly good. The best part by far was the abundance of throwaway puns like. "Well, your mother has her missionary position..." I was very amused.
In other news, my left eye has mysteriously begun hurting like a mofo. I've looked at it in the mirror and it doesn't look red or swollen or anything, but I'm also blind as a bat without the glasses I have to take off in order to look at my eye, which makes things difficult. I'll have Aubrey take a look when she gets back from lunch and shopping with her parents, I s'pose. I'm not terribly worried at the moment, but seeing as my health insurance is due to expire in less than a week, let's keep our fingers crossed that it's not pinkeye or something, mkay?
Everyone seems to be home for Father's Day. Seeing as I haven't been in a position to celebrate that holiday since I was an infant, I'm currently sitting around with a whole lotta nothin to do. It's a beautiful day out--please to be calling or e-mailing if you wanna get out and enjoy it.
Oh, and speaking of calling: I finally got out to the Verizon place to get a battery charger the other day and learned that it's been almost exactly two years since I got my first cell phone. This means that I got $100 toward a shiny new phone, which means that once I send in the rebate form I'll have paid all of $3 for the cutest teeniest shiniest flipphone ever instead of $30 for a new charger for my two year old not-nearly-as-pretty phone. This makes me happy.

Generally speaking, if my eye hurts a lot, one of two things is happening:
a) Something is IN my eye that shouldn't be. Often it's an eyelash that just went the wrong way.
b) A stye. All you can do with styes is wait 'em out, altho they make stye creams and stuff. They're ugly and painful and just annoying.
A recommendation- if you have saline solution, that stuff they use for contact lenses, just flood your eye with it and blink a lot. You can't hurt your eye with saline, and you might get lucky and rinse away whatever's causing your pain.
