Send me more music, please! I've only received three responses so far.

It's easy:
1. Pick a favorite mp3, or just whatever you happen to be listening to at the moment
2. go to www.yousendit.com
3. send file to my LJ name AT gmail DOT com.

I even promise to reciprocate, though it'll be a few days (see below for why).

I'll be leaving work a couple hours early today so that I can drive Aubs and me to Jackson for the 30th anniversary NELP reunion. Should be a good weekend--lots of nostalgia and networking opportunities, etc.--but somehow I'm not as excited about the whole thing as I thought I'd be. It's $100 I really can't afford, for one thing, and since it goes from this evening until Sunday afternoon it means giving up my usual much-anticipated lazy snuggly weekend with B. Plus... I hate to admit it, but I just wasn't one of those people whose lives were forever changed by NELP. I mean, it was a fantastic experience, don't get me wrong, and Aubrey and I probably never would have met if not for NELP, so I'm grateful for that. But I got some of my worst grades ever while I was there, so clearly I didn't really absorb the academic message, and since the only person I really kept in touch with is now my roommate, it's not like I feel any particular need to fork over $100 to see someone I see every day. I dunno, I'm sure it's going to be really fun--if nothing else, I'll get to hang out with Dan Jacobs in the context of NELP, wooo!--it's just that I've been feeling pretty cynical about the NELP cult thing for a while now, I guess. Plus, giving up my weekend with B. makes me all cranky-like.

ANYWAY, this is really only to say that I won't be online at all from this evening until Sunday afternoon and almost definitely won't have cell phone reception for most of that time, so if you can't get in touch with me that's why. Also, my random mp3 meme responses won't go out until I get back. Okay? Okay.

Did you get the Squirrel Nut Zippers track? It looked like it sent it, but then the confirmation page didn't load.

I'm sending you Clinic's "Porno." There's a weird little story behind this song: I heard it on my first two trips out of Florida this year. First playing in the club before the Super Furry Animals concert in D.C., then again in an Atlanta coffeeshop. Never again outside of those two venues.

I sent along PiƱataland's "Hell Helps me Laugh". There's a couple other songs from them that I feel are better, but I don't have them in mp3 format and don't feel like uploading them from my cds right now.

** hate to admit it, but I just wasn't one of those people whose lives were forever changed by NELP.** that makes two of us. I had an interesting time, but I can't think of anything in my life that's drastically changed because of NELP.

Oh, well. =)
