So excited I can almost taste it.

We've got plane tickets (for almost exactly the same price it would've cost us to take the train, woo!). We've got a place to stay (with a full bed and a kitchen we can use and everything! We'll get to live like actual people! YES!) We will be in NYC from roughly 3PM Friday through noonish on Monday.

I'm going to get to show my favorite boy in the world the place that feels more like home to me than anywhere else I've ever been, and I'm SO EXCITED.

Also slightly terrified, because if he ends up hating the place to which I'm moving ten months from now, it's gonna be a little problematic.

Anyway, please drop me a comment if'n you'll be in NYC Halloween weekend and would like to meet up with me. [livejournal.com profile] corenrind, [livejournal.com profile] penmage, I'm lookin' at you two particularly here. It'd be pretty fantastic to see [livejournal.com profile] penpusher, [livejournal.com profile] wurmwyd, [livejournal.com profile] pharminatrix, [livejournal.com profile] integreillumine, and anyone else I'm forgetting, too, especially if we can set up a get together/dinner thingy. Please to be commenting if you're interested in such a thing.

Sekrit message to [livejournal.com profile] raptorgirl: After revealing the Secret Gnome Master Plan to B., he's more than willing to help me lug Rupert around the city for photographic purposes, so it looks like he's coming to NY with us! The only problem I can think of is airport security-- I don't want to put him in checked luggage because he's fragile, but I'm also sort of worried if I try to carry him on with me that they'll think I'm planning to attack the pilot with him or something. Do you know of anyone who's flown with him, and how they dealt with it?

My best friend just wrapped him in bubble wrap and put him in the checked luggage. The gnome was fine all the way from Orlando to Las Vegas. I really think that's the best way to go. If you're still worried, cushion him with some clothes. :) Make sure you watch the tip of his hat! It's still fragile.

Thank you for doing this!

I can't wait to see the pics! I always hoped he would make it to NYC. Get a photo with the Empire State Building in the background!

PRESENT.

I would love to meet up with you and assorted other cuties. Perhaps I can hook Ms. [livejournal.com profile] rollerboogie into our plans too, late-night drugstore crack or no.

ROCK ON, YO.

I see a mad afternoon of photographic goodness with you, me, Brooks, [livejournal.com profile] rollerboogie if she's so inclined, and Rupert Aleister Rumbottom III. And also books! And dinosaurs! And OMG I get to see my Wizzums again, woooooooooo!

Holy crap we totally have to show Brooks the superhero store.

So. Excited. AHHHHHH!

(will call you next week sometime if that's cool)

Ooh, New York! That sounds fabulous. I hope you have a blast and tell us all the goss. I haven't been in ages and I am craving it like you would not imagine.

Well, I don't know how much goss I'll be able to impart, as I am but a poor college graduate interested more in tromping through museums in secondhand Doc Martens than taking in the latest hotspots in the chic-est of high heeled Manolos. New York, however, is pretty much my favorite place in this or any other world, and words do not exist to express how excited I am to get back. It's the only place I've been since I moved out of my mom's house that just feels like home.

Oh, not their goos, sweetheart, that's what Suzy's for! No, no, I want the goss on what the poor college graduate tromping through museums in secondhand Doc Martens does with all the people she meets!

Oops, make that goss!

Ah yes, that sort of goss I can assuredly deal with. Have you heard about the mad Amelie-esque garden gnome photography expedition yet? I'm so excited I can hardly contain myself.

That is the most fabulous thing I have seen all week! I can't wait to see what you do with the little gnome. What a delightful idea. Oh, you are going to have so much fun!

My gnome, Lester, and I traveled with no problem from Heathrow to JFK in June. I tucked him into my checked luggage and he arrived unscathed.
