Anyone want to come see Mirah with me on Tuesday, July 10 at Bowery Ballroom? Tickets are $15 and go on sale tomorrow.

Yesterday was boss-lady's first day back after a two and a half week absence. She brought me a pretty silver and mother of pearl bracelet and a purse made of gum wrappers... from her honeymoon. Sometimes I think about my life right now as compared to my life, say, a year ago, and I just cannot even begin to wrap my mind around the difference a great job can make. Boss-lady told me when I came in this morning that everyone has been saying wonderful things about how well I handled her absence and what a good job I'm doing. A year ago, I was getting screamed at and belittled and made to feel like an incompetent jackass on a daily basis. Truly, the mind reels.

You're a badass. This Mirah thing sounds tempting. Is it thru ticketrapist.com or directly through the Ballroom?

Ticketbastard it is, alas, which means tickets will probably be closer to $20 with all the surcharges and crap. Still, Bowery Ballroom's a great venue and Mirah's supposed to be awesome live. Let me know if you're game.

Isn't Ticketweb owned by Ticketmaster anyway?

I did too! Let's be concert buddies.

I am not sure! But I know Ticketmaster has more ridiculous service charges! Ticketweb is like, $3.00 more or something?

Oh we're so even REAL buddies. Srsly.

I might hit up Vanderslice again this Sunday! Eh? EH?!

<5!

are you on procrastinator's best friend, aka, the aim?

You HAVE been wildly succeeding in a position a lesser person would've been flailing in. Way to go!

I want to check out the gum wrapper purse--sounds awesome.

That's so good to see that you're being praised for doing what you do rather than belittled for it. Good job choice :)

I don't feel like finding my photo of it right now, but there's a GIANT "flag" made out of thousands of cigarette boxes at the Bean Pot in Tennessee that says "I LOVE JESUS".

I saw a post of yours in newyorkers and the name of course had me curious as I'm a bit of a Salinger geek. It says to comment and I'll probably get added, and thought it would be worthy of a shot.

Oh italics, hello!

And I am glad you find yourself in a better position than a year ago. It is funny how things can change so much.

Oh hey, you're the guy with the John Vanderslice ticket. How much? I'm not particularly familiar with him, but I'm getting itchy for some live music and I do enjoy the Mercury Lounge.

Eh, at this point, I was considering just letting it go for free. You'd think it'd be easier to get rid of a ticket to a sold out show!

He isn't everyone's thing though, so I suggest you check his stuff out first! His website has a TON of full length mp3's. I suggest "Me and my 424" from "Life and Death of an American Four-Tracker" if that's still up :).

Let me know if you're interested, and the ticket is so yours!

I can't download stuff at work, but I've been listening to the streaming stuff on his MySpace page and I like it quite a bit. What time do you want to meet? I'll be in the city until 7:30 or so, and I'd like to have time if possible to run home to Brooklyn first and change out of my office clothes. I could get there easily by 9:15-9:30.

We can meet up at the venue around the time you said. Earlier is better, but I'm in no rush!
