Accio wild Harry Potter speculation!

Okay, kiddos, it's a week and a half until the Big Day, and I have not read nearly enough Harry Potter speculation on my f-list. It's a pretty slow day here and I could use some pepping up, so let's hear it: I want your wildest theories, your deepest held suspicions. Who lives, who dies, who's going to show up in a Hogwarts spinoff series ten years down the line? Who's R.A.B., is Snape going to be redeemed, are Harry and Co. going to return to Hogwarts at all or are they just going to go straight to the Horcrux Hunt? Is Harry going to get over his stupid noble Spiderman complex thing with Ginny? Are Ron and Hermione finally going to make red-haired, bucktoothed babies? (Well, probably not that last one.) 1-2-3 go!
(I wussed out on last night's midnight showing of HP5, because I am just too old to get home at 4AM on a weeknight if there's no hot sex involved. I'll be going to see it with
sternel and possibly
marchharetay and
mathforlovers on Friday. I feel a little bad about this, but hey, it's not like anyone is going to spoil me on who dies.)

Ron + Hermione = yup
Hagrid = killed
Malfoy = less evil than we were led to believe

Date: 2007-07-11 03:16 pm (UTC)Fred and George kick the bucket.
Voldemort only made six horcruxes - he was going to use Harry's death to make the seventh and final one, but was thwarted before he got the chance (since Harry didn't die).
Draco saves Harry dramatically at the end of the book.
Harry and Ginny get together, as do Ron and Hermione. Honestly, you know there's magic in the world when people who regularly live to be 150+ find true love at age 17.

Date: 2007-07-11 11:32 pm (UTC)Snape won't be redeemed, because there's no need to redeem him -- he was working for the good guys all along but he's still a marvelously irritating bastard and my favorite characterization of every teacher there. (See, I've taught kids. I have vast sympathies for Snape. Vast, vast, vast. I'm only surprised that he didn't go evil.)
Neville will shock us all and become the Herbology professor, which he will use to set up a magical line of herbal enhancement products for male wizards and Muggles with erectile disorders, and will use Hermione to help him harness the power of the Internet to sell this :)
And yes, Harry will get over the noble Spiderman complex, because I have a romantic soul and he HAS TO.
:)
The wildest theories come later, after I've ingested some caffeine,

Date: 2007-07-13 08:55 am (UTC)I'm with the R.A.B. as Regulus Black theory; I don't think there's another viable option for that.
I think Snape has to be redeemed, and if that doesn't happen, I may throw my copy of Deathly Hallows across the room. I haven't quite figured out why that's so important for me, but there it is. I'm not sure that any redemption will happen in Harry's presence, and I'm sure that there will be plenty that Harry will overhear/-see that will lead him to think the opposite about Snape. I'd prefer to have the redeemed Snape slink away into the darkness at the end of the book, with no one but him knowing exactly how much good he did.
I think Luna Lovegood's going to have some sort of huge part to play, just because she's been in the periphery so long without any really important thing to do. I think this'll probably tie into whatever happens with Neville, as the two of them are the bizarro world Hermione and Harry.
I've been on the side of Harry dying, but I don't know if that can feasibly happen in a series like this. If he's not biting it, I don't know who'll go in his place, but I think it'll have to be two or three characters to make the balance.
